Pandemic Livestreams

With venues across the world shuttered during the pandemic lock-down, live events were left without a home.  Looking for a solution to keep the music playing, Damien drew inspiration from his roots as an early developer in streaming media.  With the aim of helping his friends and colleagues in entertainment, he created a distributed broadcast platform on Amazon’s AWS infrastructure that would allow artists to come together from across the globe to play together in virtual events, all from the safety of their own homes.

Over the course of the pandemic, Damien hosted a virtual event series that featured 75 artists, from 7 countries around the world, broadcasting over 90 hours of entertainment.  He partnered with entertainment companies from across New England, with the only stipulation that each event be used to raise money for a cause, charity, advocacy organization, or pandemic-impacted group. The broadcasts raised nearly $10,000 during the shutdown.
