The North Star
Damien joined up with the team at Permatours to produce a stage for their first ever music, education, and arts festival, It Takes a Village. Together with Dustin Rosata and Galia Traub, the trio developed a concept for the Mystic Stage, brought the vision to life, and managed end-to-end operations of the stage.
The team aimed to create a magical experience in the woods that complemented the natural beauty of the surrounding land, while also coming to life after sunset for the musical programming. Crowning the Mystic Stage was a sculpture designed by Damien called The North Star, so named because the stage was located at the start of the path to the north end of the festival grounds.
Damien conceptualized the design using 3D modeling in SketchUp. He then fabricated the sculpture using a CNC routing and brought it to life using projection mapping techniques with a combination of Resolume Arena and HeavyM software.
