The Crystal Forest
Rabbit Revolution partnered with Hydrotechnics Festival, a music festival in upstate NY, to manage the art direction and stage design of their woods stage. Damien drew inspiration from crystal geodes in the evolution of the design that became a hallmark feature of the event for two consecutive years.
On the banks of scenic Echo Lake, Damien and the Rabbit Revolution team tackled the challenge of creating a lightweight installation that leveraged an existing A-frame structure. The concept was 3D modeled and cutting templates were made using a CNC router. The team cut and fabricated each piece of the installation, which was then transported flat-packed to the location for final assembly. The installation was brought to life using a combination of LED's and projection mapping. Year two of the installation brought an expanded design featuring additional atmospheric sculptures with pixel-mapped LEDs and intelligent lighting.
